Initially, the AN-MSI Project created six committees to focus on supporting the growing information needs of students, faculty, and staff, while positioning the Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs) for the future. During the first two years of the project, the committees developed projects and activities for the participating MSIs. Over the past two years, AN-MSI has become more project-driven, with the Community Leaders providing guidance and the project members participating and offering support or expertise as needed. • Executive Awareness
  Assists campus decision makers in visualizing and planning for effective instructional and administrative integration of IT at their institutions.
• Resource Development
  Identifies opportunities for partnerships and collaborations, as well as ways to leverage other resources to implement the improvements developed by AN-MSI.
• Network Technology
  Addresses the networking, technical, operational, and support issues facing MSIs. Areas of focus include campus network planning, on-site assessments, IT staff training, security, and remote technical support options.
• Internet Connectivity
  Develops wireless and satellite pilot projects, innovative wired technologies, and cooperative connectivity projects.
• Applications
  Encourages the development and implementation of high-performance applications and enhances teaching and learning through effective use and administration of the improved networks.
• Evaluation & Assessment
  Assesses the effectiveness of the project and recommends modifications as appropriate.
